By proceeding with our services, you agree that, to the best of your understanding and knowledge, you are a victim of a severe form of trafficking in persons, as defined below:

  • Severe Forms of Trafficking in Persons (22 U.S. Code § 7102(11)): The term "severe forms of trafficking in persons" refers to:

  • (B) The recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor or services, through the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of subjection to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery.

  • Coercion (22 U.S.C. § 7102(3)): Coercion refers to threats of serious harm, psychological manipulation, or other forms of pressure intended to compel someone to perform services involuntarily.

  •  Involuntary Servitude (22 U.S.C. § 7102(8)): Involuntary servitude refers to a condition in which a person is forced to work through the use of coercion or threats and is unable to leave or refuse work.

  • Debt Bondage (22 U.S.C. § 7102(7)): Debt bondage occurs when a person’s labor or services are pledged to repay a debt, but the terms of repayment are exploitative, causing the debt to perpetuate and making it impossible to fully satisfy.

  • Service: A legally binding act of assistance or work performed by one party for the benefit of another. This can include duties, responsibilities, or obligations as defined by legal agreements or applicable laws.

  • Provision: A stipulation or condition within an agreement, or the act of providing something, such as resources, services, or support, typically outlined as a legal obligation or arrangement.

  • Fraud: The intentional deception or misrepresentation made by a person with the knowledge that the deception could result in some unauthorized benefit, exploitation, or harm to another party.

These definitions help clarify the legal terms involved in understanding Severe Forms of Trafficking in Persons.
